BBC Travel Scotland

Road information updated 24 hours a day detailing problems on roads and motorways. Includes up to the minute information on bridge closures and restrictions and accident information.

Department for Transport

The main pages of this site contain up to the minute news and information. Topic areas cover every aspect of transport and include sections on transport security and the transport of dangerous goods. Copies of Exemptions and Authorisations are available as downloads.

A must have in your favourites folder. This site contains literally up-to-the minute news and information concerning all aspects of safe working. Also useful for obtaining free leaflets covering a multitude of subjects. Information is also available regarding enforcement and prosecutions.

HSE Books

If you need to purchase safety leaflets or publications, HSE Books is worth a visit. It's book finder makes it easy to order the publication you are looking for.

Labeline

If you need copies of ADR, RID, ADN or any modal regulations you will get them here. As the name suggests they supply dangerous goods labels, handling labels and also software and documents relating to transport.

Netregs

An environment agency site which provides free environmental guidance for small businesses in the UK.

Office of Public Sector Information

This mouthful is the name for the organisation which includes the Stationary Office. As the name suggests its function is to provide information. Copies of all legislation from 1987 onwards are available as free downloads. Make sure you have enough paper in your printer.

Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA)

Scotlands environmental regulator and adviser.

Transport Office

The central resource for the UK commercial sector, providing advice and guidance for vehicle owners, drivers, testers and operators.

DVSA

The Driver and Vehicle Standards (previously known as the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency - VOSA) provides a range of licensing, testing and enforcement services with the aim of improving the roadworthiness standards of vehicles ensuring the compliance of operators and drivers, and supporting the independent Traffic Commissioners.
