The Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser Regulations (1999) implemented the requirements of EU Directive 96/35/EC in the UK. Every business that is involved with the carriage, loading and unloading of dangerous goods of any significant quantity was required to appoint a person as a Dangerous Goods. Safety Adviser by 1 January 2000. These regulations were revoked when the UK regulations were harmonised with ADR which has the same requirement. (Chapter 1.8.3). The DGSA has the task of monitoring and advising on compliance with the rules governing the transport of dangerous goods, and the preparation of an annual report to the employer on these activities.Who should attend this course. |
